Columbie Britannique – Langley
Locum opportunity available in busy Langley practice. Two full time midwives and one part time midwife, each in solo practice, need a locum for six months from January to the end of June, to assist with client load. Following the locum period at least one full time position is available, possibly two, as a solo practioner, or working as a team of either two or three midwives providing shared care for approximately 4 clients each/month. The Family Health Clinic Naturopathic Physicians and Registered Midwives work with a multi-ethnic population including Karen Refugees, and other Pacific rim groups, and families from the early European farming community.
We have privilages at both Surrey Memorial and Langley Memorial Hospitals and the new Abbotsford Regional Hospital. We have been well received at all sites and have been involved with the MOREOB program which is also offered at each hospital. Langley is a fast growing area with many young families. There are two other midwifery practices in the area and we all have waiting lists of prospective clients. The Fraser Valley is still quite rural with opportunities for trail walking and horseback riding, and has a variety of organic farms, and a weekly farmers market in the summer.
