Seeking 1 New Registrant: Start date is flexible – November 1^st to December 1^st, 2011

Midwives of Sudbury is a growing midwifery practice which currently has 5 full-time midwives on staff. We are seeking to hire 1 New Registrant, MEP or IMPP.

Established since 2000, the practice is a busy clinical teaching site and usually has 1-2 MEP students. We are dedicated to the promotion of respect and equity amongst midwives offering a flexible on/off call schedule and access to professional development.

Sudbury is rich in northern culture and heritage.  Our clients represent northern social and cultural diversity including Aboriginal, Francophone and immigrant families, and the Laurentian University community. Our catchment area includes the Greater City of Sudbury as well as outlying areas.  We hold privileges at St. Joseph’s Health Center located in the heart of the city. We have a vision for collaborative primary care practice that will improve access to midwifery and other related services and facilitate the delivery of midwifery services.

Sudbury is 4 hours north of Toronto and 5 hours west of Ottawa.  It is ideally located with all the amenities of a large city located in the north!  Many outdoor recreations such as skiing, swimming and hiking are all easily accessible.  Continuing education at Laurentian University and involvement in teaching at the Midwifery Education Program and Ontario Northern Medical School located at Laurentian University are all possibilities for members of our practice.  We seek ethical, dedicated and caring midwives who work well with others, have enthusiasm and stamina.
