Ontario – Peterborough
Position available for a New Registrant or General Registrant midwife at Kawartha Community Midwives, located in Peterborough.
Start date: June or July 2012
We are a practice of 6 midwives. We practice in a shared care model wherein clients meet three midwives but meet their primary midwife for the majority of visits. We have privileges at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. We are required to transfer care for epidurals and oxytocin, but are currently in negotiations to work to our full scope. There is access to a labour tub in the birthing suite at the hospital. Our clinic is in a gorgeous, spacious Victorian house, which is in the downtown, close to restaurants and shopping and 5 minutes from the hospital and the lake. We attend about 70% of our clients in hospital, the remainder at home. We also offer the option for clients who live at a distance to birth at our clinic, where we have a birthing tub. We cover a large area around Peterborough, about 45 minutes in each direction. We each get 4 days off per month, plus an additional 24 hours per week, plus 9 weeks holiday per year.
Please send your resume and a cover letter by February 21rd to the attention of Andrea Fenton, Office Administrator, at kawartha_midwives@bellnet.ca or fax at (705)745-7183. Only those applicants chosen for an interview will be contacted.
