Now is the time for Canadian midwives to demonstrate our commitment to the women of the world! We are encouraging as many members as possible to attend the 2011 International Congress of Midwives in Durban, South Africa, June 19-23, 2011.

  • Connect with international partners and projects at WHO, ICN, IPA, FIGO and the White Ribbon Alliance
  • Travel to one of the most beautiful cities in the world: Durban, South Africa
  • Participate in the Road to Durban 5 kilometre walk in celebration of commitment to the improvement of maternal and newborn health across the African continent and around the world

CAM has set a goal of having 10 percent of Canadian Midwives represent our country at the 2011 ICM. Let us know when you have registered by sending an email to eheller@canadianmidwives.org and check our website often to find out how close we are to meeting our target!

Midwives who are unable to attend in person can still participate by taking part in the International Day of the Midwife 5 Kilometers Walk on the Road to Durban. Another great way to show your support is by helping fundraise for fellow midwives who are attending.

“This Congress promises to be an historic event in the history of the ICM. Join me in Durban to celebrate our successes and pursue our commitment to deliver exemplary midwifery care to improve the health of women and their newborns where ever they live.”

Bridget Lynch, ICM President, CAM Member
