Job opportunities – Locum Position - Starting April 1, 2011

01 November 2010

British Columbia – Vancouver

Bloom Community Midwives is a dynamic, busy midwifery practice in the heart of the West End of Vancouver. We practice at St. Paul’s Hospital, BC Women’s Hospital and, of course, welcome and encourage homebirth and waterbirth.  We serve a diverse population of women, with an emphasis on those living in downtown Vancouver.
We are a teaching practice and have full-time, experienced administrative support.  The clinic is bright and spacious with two clinic rooms, a staff kitchen, a staff computer/work area and an autoclave.  Bloom has two parking spots behind the clinic which is right beside St. Paul's Hospital.  We have a strong commitment to the environment and participate in community events and projects related to the environment.  We have a proactive marketing and promotions strategy with the significant majority of the associated costs covered by Bloom.
The position available is for a midwife to work in a team of three. This is a locum position with call time and clinic time divided fairly.  Rent is very competitive for Vancouver and compensation is a percent of billings with a small percentage deduction as it is a locum position.
The start date for this position is April 1 2011. The position will be a minimum of six months long with the possibility of a year or beyond.
