Under the direction of the Director Primary Health Care, the Midwife is responsible to give necessary care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct deliveries on her own responsibility and to care for the infant and the mother. This care includes preventative measures, the detection of abnormal conditions in the mother and child, accessing medical assistance when necessary and taking emergency measures in the absence of medical help.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time Position (Field Hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an educational program approved by the Saskatchewan College of Midwives
• Current active practicing registration with Saskatchewan College of Midwives
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation including intubation (NRP)
• Owns or has access to a dependable vehicle that is available for use at all times
• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver s licence
• Position requires availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and on-call responsibility
