Call for Abstracts 2014

The Canadian Association of Midwives Annual Conference will be held November 5 to 7, 2014 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

CAM's Program Planning Committee is inviting Canadian and international speakers to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on scientific, clinical and philosophical topics of importance to practicing midwives and maternity care providers, students, educators and health policy makers.

New this year! CAMtalks

The CAM Conference Program Planning Committee is very excited to present a new format option for presentations at this year’s CAM Conference: CAMtalks

Based on the format of short TED talks (, you will present a practiced talk in 10 minutes, no longer. If you use slides or powerpoints, there can be a maximum of five used. To prepare, watch some 5 minute TED talks. All presenters will move from the stage after exactly 10 minutes for the next speaker to begin.

This is an exciting opportunity to share forward thinking innovative and creative ideas!

Please take note that:

  • There are no changes to the other existing presentation formats: 30 min plenary and concurrent sessions, 45 min panel discussions and poster presentations.
  • CAMtalks cannot exceed the 10 allotted minutes and the presentation schedule will be duly followed.
  • This format is based on the TED talks and we encourage presenters to views a few of these beforehand to get a firm grasp of the length, tone and feel of this new format.

This year’s conference theme will touch on midwives as leaders of innovation: future scope, knowledge and competencies.

Abstracts submissions deadline: March 31st, 2014 at 5:00pm EST (Eastern Standard Time).  Deadline extended to April 11th, 2014.
